Powwow Raceway operates two distinct tracks on its private desert property in Anza, California. Each one is built for a different discipline, a different skill set, and a different kind of driver. Whether you are chasing lap times on a purpose-built short course or pushing your confidence on open raw desert terrain, there is a track here built for exactly what you are trying to accomplish.

The Desert Track — Short Course

The Desert Track is a purpose-built short course designed for trucks, buggies, and prerunners. It features tight corners that demand precise entry speeds, jump faces that reward commitment, and rhythm sections that teach your hands and feet to work together before your brain catches up. This is the kind of track where you run the same section 20 times and still find a tenth on lap 21.

Short course racing demands a specific skill set that is hard to develop on open desert runs. The corners are tighter than what most prerunners practice on. The transitions are faster. The track does not let you hide a loose setup behind raw horsepower. Every weakness in your vehicle and your driving shows up quickly — which is exactly why serious drivers book this track before a race weekend.

The Desert Track receives basic track prep before each rental session. Rentals run from 8AM to 1PM for a half day ($850) or 8AM to 5PM for a full day ($1,100). Up to 3 vehicles are included in the base rental price.

The Rally Track — Open Desert Loop

The Rally Track is a different animal entirely. Over 2 miles of technical dirt carved through trees, sandy washes, open fields, and variable terrain — the kind of course that resets your sense of speed every few hundred yards. It runs completely raw with no watering, because the whole point is to put you in conditions that match what you will actually face on a rally stage or a desert race course.

Dust, variable grip, and terrain that changes character between passes — this is what drivers who are training for real racing need. The Rally Track is not comfortable. It is not predictable. That is the point. When race day comes and the course throws something unexpected at you, the drivers who have practice reps on surfaces like this respond faster and make fewer mistakes.

The Rally Track also runs at $850 for a half day and $1,100 for a full day, and carries the same 3-vehicle base limit with per-vehicle fees beyond that.
